The installation of the IRMA passenger counting system usually follows this sequence:

Software update in the analysers
(in the 3rd week after the test ride)
The installation also includes a test ride in regular revenue service for each vehicle type (or for each door type as well) after the completion of the mechanical and electrical installation of the IRMA passenger counting system.
During this test ride, the analyser is not connected to the on-board computer, but to a laptop. The program AINST12.EXE is used to store in one file per stop the signals of the sensors of a door. At the same time, the number of boarding and alighting passengers at this door is determined manually and written down together with the filename for the stop in question. At the premises of iris-GmbH, in the course of software adaptation, the manual counts are compared to the counts determined by the analyser and, if necessary, the software is adapted.
Then the program ASOFT06.EXE is used to carry out a software update in the analysers.
