3.3 Selection of analysers

The selection of analysers depends upon

the interface of the on-board computer,
the number of doors, and
the number of sensors to be connected for each door.

The following table provides an overview for the selection of analysers:

When selecting the analysers, observe

that the cable length between the analyser and the sensor must not be longer than 15 m and
that the cables from the sensors to the analyser may not be lead over a joint (high installation expense).

In vehicles with a narrow and a wide door, an analyser for 2 wide doors is installed. In this case, one sensor connection remains free in the analyser.

In vehicles with extra wide doors, one analyser is installed per door. Also in this case, one sensor connection remains free in the analyser.

To carry out the installation of the IRMA passenger counting system and later service activities, the analysers must be connected to a laptop.

Analysers with IBIS interface and with RS-485 interface need the corresponding service package.
Analysers with an RS-232 interface and with a J1708 interface can be directly connected to a laptop.
